Bak 2 Skool

Project 1, Desn111. Making models.

Materials? left to right - paper (using only straight folds), heavy card (taking an element from the paper model and repeating & joining without adhesive) & wire (an expressive representation of the card model)

Emily, my tutor, was a great help - with plenty of guidance I found the progression from start to finish challenging, fun and ultimately successful. This project opened up my awareness of the role that process plays in design & I relaxed a little knowing that the skills I've gained over the last 20yrs can be put to good use at Design School.

Clik here for more photos from the Desn111 gallery.

Olive cafe... "you wanna go for coffee?" We spend almost as much money on coffee as we do on printing, or is that the other way 'round... Check out also Fidels, Midnight, Mojo & La La.

designers, sculpture & books

Over the weekend i've looked at works by...
Terence Conran
Ross Stevens

Took a walk up Happy Valley Rd
on sunday nite, came across the sculptures & scenes that make up Carlucci Land - this place is fantastic = hours & hours of viewing.

Whilst searching the place online i came across this Flickr Site. Check it out - you may want to join this group & add to it.

And if you like to read then this Top 100 Novel List (Time Magazine) may be of interest to you.

project 1, part 2

This term i'm living in a very cool house designed and built by Ross Stevens. Check out this blog about Ross's Container House for a few photos of the place. It's in Happy Valley, Wellington.

It's a great place for playing guitar, especially for jamming. Check out Rollingstone Magazine for a great place to keep up to date with music, movies and some US politics.

There are some amazing homes and spaces built from shipping containers, check some of them out here.
